If you’re looking for something to waste time on, there’s a fascinating compilation of contract riders for celebrities at The Smoking Gun. It’s the actual contract riders for artists ranging from Foo Fighters to J. Lo – listing all the things that they require from promoters – everything from meal items to stage requirements to, most importantly to us, what must be in their dressing rooms.
And here’s the disappointment – we’ve gone through just about all of the female artists’ requirements, and only two specify that there must be cigarettes in their dressing rooms: Sinead O’Connor (2 packs of Marlboro Lights) and Sheryl Crow (1 pack of Marlboro Lights). Of course, not every artist’s rider is on the site, so we can always hope that in the future we’ll see additions like Pink
