Were we the only ones, when watching the Oscar telecast, who noticed the prevelence of smoking during the film montages, particularly in the historical ones showing the “best moments” in various categories? Isn’t it amazing that when the producers and editors for the Motion Picture Academy — people who are visually-oriented and knowledgeable about the nearly 100-years of films that have been released — find that some of the most compelling visual moments of the last century involve smoking on film?
Oh, wait, we forgot —”smoking isn’t sexy anymore.”
