Sorry for the lack of posts for the past few days, but we had to make a quick, unexpected business trip to Las Vegas. And we’re even sorrier to report that things seem to keep getting worse there in terms of sightings.
Admittedly, we were there in the middle of winter when visitors are fewer than normal – and the big convention in town was a concrete convention which wouldn’t tend to attract younger, pretty smokers. Even so, the number of sightings worth mentioning was almost as low as it would be in California – pretty discouraging stuff. What was even more alarming (to us, anyway) was that we walked past several cigarette vending machines in different casinos, and rather than have a decent selection of brands – each machine had two entire rows of Marlboro Ultra Lights and three rows of Marlboro Lights, with a few other brands (including Marlboro Reds) taking up the last two rows. Maybe that’s the vendor’s idea of what sells best, but we’d have to believe it’s really the vendor’s response to what does sell best. Wow.
Trips to Vegas aren’t quite as “satisfying” as they used to be.
