This isn’t an actual TV alert – the scene we saw had absolutely no smoking in it at all.
But it’s funny how the mind works…we were watching an episode of “Bones” tonight (well, we weren’t actually watching it – it was just on the TV and we were sitting there)…and there was a scene with a man and a young woman, inside a car, in semi-darkness. (Since we don’t normally watch the show, we have no idea who the characters were.)
But the general look of the scene – the inside of the car, the camera angle, the lighting, the young attractive woman – almost immediately brought us back to a scene that we haven’t seen in quite some time, but still remember vividly. It’s the scene in “TAG – The Assassination Game” with Linda Hamilton, lighting two cigarettes before handing one off, and then smoking expertly and seductively, with the light absolutely perfect to show things off.
It’s one of the great mainstream smoking scenes of all time – but it’s amazing how just seeing a similar looking shot, with no smoking whatsoever, almost instantly brought that scene back to mind. Talk about something being imprinted in the brain! (And if you’ve never had the pleasure of seeing the scene in question – do yourself a favor and find a copy of the movie. You will not be disappointed.
