We’ve spent most of the day working with Norton techs, who are trying to unscrew up our machines after we installed a new, apparently defective version of Norton, according to their outsourced techs’ instructions.
Hopefully we’ll be back up and running tomorrow…..

Norton is the devil. That program is more of a virus than the viruses it’s supposed to destroy.

Agreed.
Unfortunately, the machine in question is an old win98 machine, it had an old version of norton virusscan that wouldn’t download anymore updated virus definitions…and mcafee doesn’t even have a product that supports win98 anymore. that left us stuck
