The march to ban smoking everywhere, that is.
For a number of years, some cities and towns have refused to hire smokers as firefighters and police officers – for reasons which could ostensibly be defended (for example, you don’t want the person who’s responsible for rescuing you to run out of breath before they can get to you).
But now, private employers are trying to get into the act – and now, the largest employer in Central Florida has decided it will discriminate against smokers (their words, not ours) and will not hire a smoker for any job, period.
